wave goes out, wave comes in

Emergent Strategy: Shaping Change, Changing Worlds went out into the world in late March. it felt like a wave moving through me, going out into the world, seeking shore and kin and possibility. in the subsequent almost two months, the wave has been flowing back in, so full of love.

wanted to share some of this with you. i’ve started gathering testimonials from folks on their thoughts as they read it here.

and then there’s the picture thing – people are taking the sweetest selfies with the book and posting them. i’ve been making collages of these pics and more flow in daily, and every day this makes me rest into this book as a work of many many people longing for and practicing being in right relationship with change and the planet and the future. here are the collages so far (and some event highlights):

y’all are absolutely gorgeous. all love!

  1. just adding my testimony, bearing witness to the power of your work. as soon as i learned of the promise of the book, i pre-ordered it and waited, impatiently, i admit, for it to arrive.

it is more powerful than my expectations, in its depth, in its authenticity, in its collaborative framing with others who do amazing work. it articulates what my feeble utterances in mississippi hadn’t been able to and affirms what i hoped to be true: that healing relationships, based on new ways of being, in openness and honesty and compassion and justice, are what will save us, if anything can. i’ve already shared with my closest colleagues in mississippi and last week i got to share it with folks who are searching for ways to being healing and equity to south carolina, in direct response to the charleston massacre. in june, i will be lifting it up to community leaders and police officers from across the country who will be gathering in NYC to learn how to begin to trust each other in order to build resilient and thriving communities.

in deepest gratitude for this gift. peace, susan
